San Jose State University Graduation Photos with Maya
This San Jose State University graduation session with Maya was such a fun one. She brought her cat to the session, which made the shoot feel even more personal and memorable. I always love when clients bring someone—or in this case, a pet—that means a lot to them because it adds so much personality to the photos.
This was also a group graduation session with her sister, which made the energy even better. Since everyone was super efficient, we were able to hit all of the main SJSU graduation photo spots and even explore a few new locations I don’t normally shoot at.
That flexibility made this session stand out. Some of my favorite images came from the extra time we had to be creative and try different compositions around campus.
Since this session took place during the fall semester, campus was a little less hectic compared to peak spring graduation season, which made moving between locations much easier.
Including Maya’s cat made the session feel even more meaningful. Graduation photos should reflect your personality and your story, and adding personal touches like pets makes the final gallery feel much more authentic.
Tips for SJSU Graduation Photos
* Bring meaningful props or pets to personalize your session * Group sessions work great when everyone stays on schedule * Build in extra time if you want to explore creative spots * Golden hour gives some of the best lighting around campus
